Why AWANA ?

The pledge to the AWANA flag
describes the purpose of AWANA
best.  It says, "I pledge allegiance to
the AWANA flag, which stands for
the AWANA Clubs, whose goal is to
reach boys and girls with the Gospel
of Christ, and to train them to serve
Him.
What IS Awana?

Awana is an international,
Bible centered organization
providing ministries for three
year-olds through high
schoolers. The acronym
Awana comes from the first
letters of
Approved Workmen
Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim. 2:
15).
Cubbies

This is a two-year preschool ministry designed
for the two years prior to kindergarten. Cubbies
include a cute character named Cubbie Bear
and a zoo motif. Cubbie Bear encourages
children as they achieve goals in handbooks.
Handbooks provide memorization curriculum
and stimulating activities designed especially
for preschoolers. The Hopper Handbook (first
rank) and Jumper Handbook (second rank)
teach basic Bible truths about God and His
word along with popular concepts of colors,
shapes, numbers, and letters. Cubbies
clubbers display their awards on their Cubbies
vest, which they wear to meetings each week.
Sparkies

Designed for children in kindergarten through
second grade, Sparks includes a fun firefly
character named Sparky, a red vest with
accompanying awards for "Sparkies" to wear,
and a nature motif. Sparky Firefly encourages
and motivates children through handbook
achievements. Handbooks provide Bible
memorization curriculum and other
Bible-centered activities.
Truth & Training

This club is for third-fifth graders, also called
T&T. There are four handbooks in
The
Ultimate Adventure Series
. They provide a
variety of Bible memorization and other
Bible-centered achievements. Characters in
each handbook study out space, spend a
summer, act in a video set in Israel, and go
on a great outdoor vacation.
Awana Grand Prix

Awana Grand Prix is a model car racing event that
combines creativity and skill. Grand Prix is one of
the best ways to get the whole family involved.

A couple months before the race, clubbers are
given a small pine block of wood and plastic
wheels. Clubbers then construt their cars, usually
with the help of a parent or leader.

Parents are encouraged to attend Grand Prix. This
has been a great success here at Calvary.
